Founded by Holden Russell, who serves as the Head Editor, Skyfreight strives to bridge the gap between independent artistry and professional representation. Our mission is to make quality publication accessible to writers of all levels while ensuring each contributor retains full ownership of their work.

About the Editor
Holden Russell is the founder and editor of Skyfreight Publishing House, a platform created to champion independent voices in literature. With a passion for storytelling and a deep respect for the craft of writing, he established Skyfreight to provide representation and visibility to writers who might otherwise go unheard.
Holden earned his Bachelor of Science in Creative Advertising from Virginia Commonwealth University and his Master of Arts in English and Creative Writing from Southern New Hampshire University. He served seven years in the Virginia Army National Guard, including three as a Public Affairs Specialist, during which time he wrote and published numerous articles highlighting service members’ stories.
He is the author and illustrator of two children’s chapter books: The Freight Train in the Sky (2021) and The Darkness Before the Dawn (2023)—both recipients of five-star reviews from Readers’ Favorite, as well as Lost in Time his debut novel in the young adult genre. His work has also appeared in Prometheus Dreaming and the print anthology Prometheus Dreaming Uncut 2019.
As an editor, Holden is dedicated to curating honest, imaginative, and resonant work that reflects the diversity and depth of today’s literary landscape.
